We love balayage for gorgeous, sun kissed blondes, but there’s more to the technique. Sunlights educator Vanessa Dyer is back with four ways you can use balayage beyond blonde this spring. Color Correction “Balayage can be a great tool for color corrections. For example, say a client comes in with faded level 7 ends, a dark level 5 band and natural growth at a level 8 and she wants to match her level 7 ends. Using Sunlights Balayage skimming technique, you can break through that level 5 band to give a more even canvas to work with.” Here’s how The Balaylama, Candy Shaw, likes to use the Sunlights Balayage skimming technique. Again, using Sunlights saturation guidelines you can give her 1-2 levels of lift for a perfect caramel highlight.” Shop Sunlights Balayage here.  Cautious Color “You know the client who gets her same level 6N every time? Usually, she really wants to try a little something different but is scared to get too crazy. Sunlights comb Balay technique is an excellent tool to add just a few tinsel strands to break up the fullness without being overwhelming!” Watch the technique here, and shop the Sunlights Balayage Balay comb here.  Seasonal Color “Then there’s the client that through the winter has been rocking the level 2N. But it’s spring time and she wants lighter. Not blonde, not caramel but red! Again, balayage is perfect! Give her a beautiful paint and instead of toning to cancel warmth give her a rich red glaze overlay.” Shop Sunlights Balayage here.
