Is it Valentine's day or National Nail Art Day? There are so many ways to add a little something extra to every manicure this season so here's a round up the top trends we are seeing on Instagram right now.

Tiny Hearts

First there was tiny sunglasses, then there was tiny purses, and now there's tiny hearts! Adding a few hand painted hearts is a quick and easy way to make any manicure Valentine's-ready and this look is EVERYWHERE. Nail pros, you can create an easy heart using a dotting tool and a small striper brush. First, using your dotting tool, make two nail polish dots with some space between them for the top part of the heart, then use your striper brush to draw downward with polish and connect at a point, fill in to finish.

Valentine's But Make It Goth

Love doesn't have to mean red roses and flirty dresses - I mean, have you seen Morticia & Gomez Addams? Sometimes we're just in the mood for a black manicure, and if that time falls into February, go with it!

Candy Hearts Color Scheme

Spring nail polish collections are starting to arrive and that means all the pastels. Get a jump start on spring color schemes by creating a pastel rainbow french manicure or try your skill at some nail art with some literal candy hearts as inspo. We've seen a ton of renditions of the traditional french mani, and adding some color is a great way to modernize (or make it less cringey) depending on where you fall in this debate.

Heart Frenchies

Ok, these are so cute. Create an almond shape nail to the client's desired length and sharpness and use the tip of the nail as the bottom of a heart design. Use your dotting tool to make two polish dots to create the top of the heart and fill in the nail tip. What's great about this Valentine's Day nail art, is that you can create this design on every nail or only do as a few accents. This look is truly versatile.

My Love's On Fire

This was a trend that surprised us but was too prominent to ignore. For this nail art trend, we're going to draw a flame decal and make it "Valentine's" with the color scheme, of course. To paint flames with nail lacquer or gel polish, you will need a thin striper nail art brush. Start by drawing a C in the middle of the nail where the curve of the C is parallel to the free edge of the nail. As you complete the C shape, flick the brush to extend the line. Next, draw a line straight down from the curve of the C to the free edge. Continue to trace the shape you created to thicken the line, Remember to keep your lines fluid and rounded to avoid looking like a fork.

Classic Red

We had to finish strong with a classic red. If you aren't spending extra time with your client to create detailed nail art, don't forget that you can still make their experience special and use your time to properly pamper them. At PinkPro, we get asked every year what the best Valentine's Day red nail polish is, so here's our top picks: CND Company Red, OPI Big Apple Red, and Gelish & Morgan Taylor Hot Rod Red.   Be sure to tag us in your Valentine's Day nail art designs at @pinkprobeautysupply on Instagram. We love to share your work with our pros-only followers so we can support each other. Make sure you check out the Instagram pages of the nail artists we tagged in this post too!
