With Father's Day coming up on June 19th, it's time to think about how we can make the men our life feel pampered too. Skincare can seem daunting at first, but it doesn’t matter who you are, the basics of skincare are simple: Cleanse, hydrate, protect. If you have 2 minutes in your day, you can have a skincare routine. A basic routine has 3 steps: cleanse, hydrate, & protect.

CLEANSE

Wash your face with a gentle face cleanser to remove any oil and dirt. Massage the cleanser in circular motions, rinse with warm water, and pat dry. Primal Elements Facial Cleanser is sulfate free, paraben free, and plant based so it's gentle enough for daily use. Clinical Care Skin Solutions Green Stuff is a facial cleansing gel that lifts dirt deep from pores and contains no detergents. Once or twice per week you can use a physical exfoliant, these are exfoliator products or facial cloths that contain a gritty texture/surface to remove bacteria deep in pores. Cleanlogic Facial Buffers or Texture Facial Cloths are certified organic cotton exfoliators that contain no dyes and sustainable packaging. Good for your skin & the Earth! If you're looking for something a little more "man-ly" in this section, our Men's Skincare section features tons of products for Body Cleansing too. Try American Crew Classic Body Wash for a daily blend of Ginseng for elasticity, Vitamins A & E for antioxidants, and Cedarwood for moisture. For some serious detox, try Gibs man-sized Bar Soaps. These 6 ounce soaps will lather & smell fantastic until it's gone - seriously the longevity is crazy on these things. Gibs Charcoal Bar is made with activated charcoal to trap odors and exfoliate your skin.

HYDRATE

By hydrate, we mean moisturize! Moisturizing is so important to help dry skin, protect from the elements, and maintain elasticity for younger looking skin. Pierre F Daily Moisturizer is lightweight, go-to with probiotics & cucumber for a refreshing feel. Clinical Care Drench is a top selling, extremely hydrating moisturizer in this line. Drench contains Bisabolol for anti-inflammatory, Squalane for moisture, and Soy Bean Oil for a collagen boost.

PROTECT

Dermatologist Dr. Chris Tomassian says, "Chronic UV damage slowly breaks down your skin's collagen and elastin and creates mutations in your DNA which lead to everything we dread: wrinkles, poor texture, and skin cancer. Many times you don’t realize the difference in your skin until you see an old photo or have 10 minutes in front of mirror! Wearing sunscreen is simply the best thing anyone can do for the skin." Even if you sit inside all day, UV rays can still get through windows and damage your skin. Sunscreen for your face shouldn't feel oily or thick. It should be able to wear under makeup and add moisture to your skin. Clinical Care Sunshield is a SPF30 with anti-allergenic properties for sensitive skin. American Crew All-In-One Face Balm is an amazing product for this section of your routine. This product soothes shaved skin, acts as an daily moisturizer, and contains SPF15. If you want to go the extra mile, Hempz Yuzu & Starfruit Lip Balm contains broad spectrum SPF15 to protect your lips from UVA/UVB rays too. Don't forget the rest of your body! Add some sunscreen to your chest, shoulders, arms, ears, legs, and back if you're headed out with exposed skin.
