I'm sure as a hairstylist your least favorite word is FREE! You spent a lot of money and time to get your license so why would you want to give away free products or even a free service? Finding a new hair stylist can be a stressful time for many consumers. You can become their confidant and even their friend. But how do you get them to pick you or your salon? Sometimes offering a free product or service is the answer. Be confident in your services. Make sure the client experience is one they will not forget. Once you get them in the door, it's your time to shine! Giving a potential client a free service will make them appreciate it even more. Turn them into clients for life! When you have someone in your chair for a complimentary service, the chances of them coming back and paying next time sky-rockets. Ask them to tell their friends and family, who may also end up becoming clients. Make it an easy and memorable experience! After offering a complimentary service, your hopefully future client, will usually purchase products and tip well. Giving away complimentary services may seem like a total loss but if you're confident in your talents, I promise it will pay off!
