Social distancing may be new to us as Americans, but it will have long-lasting effects on the beauty industry. Here’s 5 ways your clients can help you and your shop stay solvent during the current Covid-19 crisis. Idea: Text or email this to your clientele and consider posting it on your salon website. Book It! When/if you cancel your upcoming appointment, rebook it at the same time. Whether it’s a month or six months away, rebooking shows your confidence and trust in your stylist. A “busy” book is far easier on the mental health of stylists versus an empty one. While you’re at it, consider prebooking your birthday mani, Thanksgiving updo and your pre-Christmas color. Gift Cards are Golden Right now, cash flow is petering out for those in the beauty industry. Consider buying a gift card for salon/shop services (or several) to either gift to your friends, or use for your next visit(s). Gift cards can be the difference between solvency and shuttered doors. Take their Artistry Viral Your opinion matters. Take to social media (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) and leave reviews and comments on your artists’ pages. Share those pages and accounts with friends. Leave a Yelp review. Share an incredible before and after on their Facebook page or tag them on the ‘Gram. Because when this is over, everyone is going to want a gorgeous balayage, tight fade, meticulous mani or much-needed trim. Continue the Love You and your stylists may be separated for now, but chances are, they’re still working it in the shop, cleaning, posting social throwbacks to keep their accounts fresh and most likely, staying fairly active on their stories. Like and share those posts on your own social media accounts. Comment on everything and show the love. Check In The relationship you have with your hairstylist, barber, manicurist or massage therapist is an intimate one. Chances are, you refer to them as friends, and maybe even family. Check in with them via text, email or phone call. Send them a digital gift card for a take out dinner or a local grocery store. In times like this, it’s the little things we do for each other, even when we’re apart, that can be the difference between complete isolation – and complete love. How have your clients shown you the love in the last few weeks? And what are you doing to keep your artistry front and center in their minds? We’d love to hear from you below! Stay safe, PinkPros, and stay smart. We’re here for you!
